Our modern, air-conditioned glass area offers all the studio aids to ensure your projects are the best they can be!

Class sizes are restricted to allow better levels of attention for all students. Our maximum class size is seven in the stained glass/leadlight studio.

A short safety induction is carried out on your first class to explain the correct handling of the various materials, and the use of the equipment within the studio environment. It is recommended that if you are pregnant you do not pursue this hobby due to health considerations.

During the first term both leading and copper foil construction methods are explained, and students will produce one item from each discipline. We will explain and demonstrate glass cutting, glass selection, lead construction, copper foil construction, soldering techniques, polishing and finishing and assist you with the selection of your own project. In subsequent terms we can provide more in-depth guidance on construction of more complex pieces and the exploration of design and pattern production.

Continuing your classes in our studio provides you with access to all our studio equipment including glass and lead supplies, glass grinders, glass band saws,  light tables etc.

We also have a full computer aided design (CAD) pattern making service covering design and printing, and we can help you choose from an enormous range of product offerings suited to all abilities from beginner to experienced.
